1.        Notarized power of attorney stamped with the official seal of the applicant. Same valid for 5 years

2.        List of goods and classes covered. One item of any class heading should be excluded - (N. cl. 8e)

3.        Legalized certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register

4.        Declaration that no change in legal status, name, address occurred after filing

5.        Translation of the mark, if any

6.        Details of home/ foreign registration, if any

7.        Certified copy of priority documents, if claimed

Collective or Certification Mark
1-7.   Same as above

8.        Certified copy of byelaw of the association governing use of mark

Renewal - 10 years

1.        Notarized power of attorney

Assignment / License / Merger

1.        Notarized power of attorney from each party

2.        Legalized deed of Assignment / License / Merger

3.        Give details of TMs concerned in case of merger

4.        Legalized certificate of incorporation of the assignee or extract from the commercial register

5.        Legalized Form No. 4

6.        TM 11 and TM 12 notarised for assignment

7.        In case the licensee is Sudanese then an approval from the Ministry of Industry is required

Change of Name or Address

1.        Notarized power of attorney

Patent - Paris Convention - 20 years

4.        Certified copy of priority documents, if claimed

5.        Up to 50 design are accepted in one application

6.        Renewal for Two terms of 5 years

b.          IP address of primary and secondary name server

4.        Renewal is for one year


       Remarks

1.        Legalization is by Sudanese Consulate

2.        General legalized POA can be used for any IP service mentioned hereabove

3.        Same registered address should be used in any new application or recording

4.        Alcoholic drinks and beverages covered by classes 32 and 33 as well as pork in class 29 are not registrable

5.        Opposition within 8 months from publication in the official gazette

6.        Non-use for 5 consecutive years will subject the mark to cancellation by court action

7.        Translation charges of list of goods, patent specification, claims etc. are charged once when these cover more than one country
